She walks amongst the crowd
Chin up, head held high.
As if nothing bothers her
No, she has to deny.
As if she didn't cry to sleep
Her eyes, they are dry.
As if her plastic smile is real
She is a far cry
From what she pretends to be
Everyone's ally.
Deprived of dreams and dazzle
She lacks all happiness.
She’s blind to the beauty around
Her mind is a mess.
Too many thoughts and words
Too much to express.
But she can't find an outlet
To let it out, to confess.
What she feels, left unsaid
Words she has to suppress.
At night, when no one's around
She no longer has to pretend.
Gazes in the mirror
Her image is her only friend.
But her own expressions
She cannot comprehend.
With her deceptive self
Not a moment can she spend.
She smashes the mirror
Brings it all to an end.
